Katie began practicing yoga to cope with life’s daily stresses. After noticing the positive impact, physically and mentally, she was drawn to establish a consistent practice.

Along with a passion for yoga, Katie has a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with extensive knowledge and training in anxiety disorders. While in graduate school, she became interested in the therapeutic benefits of yoga while studying the effects of meditation and mindfulness on stress reduction in children. She fell even more in love with the practice of yoga and became certified to teach.

The mind-body connection will always fascinate Katie and inform her teaching style. She specializes in Vinyasa, and her classes blend mindfulness, stress relief, and cognitive awareness with anatomy, alignment, and biomechanics. Although she includes tidbits of information throughout her practices, Katie teaches with a very lighthearted approach– her classes are fun and playful!

Katie strives to create a safe space for all of her students, allowing creativity and expression, as we are unique individuals. Although the teacher is essential for guidance, the practice of yoga comes from within, and Katie believes only the student knows what feels good in their body and mind.

Yoga

Level 2 30 mins

Feel the effects of linking your breath to movement in this full-body flow. Start by practicing a sequence with several breaths per posture to ignite strength, then repeat the sequence at a faster pace. Postures include Sphinx, Kneeling Chin Stand, Reverse Warrior, Skandasana, Revolved Lunge, Chair Pose, and Standing Splits. This class previously aired on December 15, 2023.

Yoga

Level 2 45 mins

Inspired by the water element, this class guides you in being fluid and feeling good. You’re encouraged to move intuitively and creatively, using Ocean Breath throughout. Highlights include Anjaneyasana, Locust Pose, Dancing Warrior, Wild Thing, Splits, and Mermaid. This class is a part of Katie’s 4-class Elemental Series, which explores the qualities of the elements in each practice. Search “Elemental Series” for more. Yoga

Level 1 30 mins

Reach areas often neglected in this practice that targets your ankles, feet, calves, and tibalis anterior (a muscle below your knees). Show lots of love to these areas while flowing steadily through Calf Raises, Chair Pose on tippy toes, Diver Pose, Pyramid Pose, Revolved Triangle, and Warrior III.
