Foundational yoga for beginners and advanced practitioners.

Hatha yoga is often slower moving than a Vinyasa yoga practice, but it can be challenging, stimulating, or soft, depending on the circumstances. The integration of breath while holding poses for long periods of time with intention and relaxation comprise this branch of practice that encompasses and integrates many forms.

If you need to settle your mind, open your heart, and soften the nervous system, this class is for you. Move through a grounding sequence that features Quarter Dog, Pigeon Pose, Half Moon, Anjaneyasana (Crescent Moon) variations, Standing Forward Fold variations, Yin-style postures, and simple breathwork. This Hatha class connects with your inner space while offering a strong, full-body practice. Move steadily through Prasarita Padottanasana variations (Wide-Legged Standing Forward Fold), Triangle variations, Pigeon variations, and Camel Pose before finishing with Ardha Bhekasana (Half Frog Pose), Full Wheel, and Supine Twist. It’s a great class for a 20-minute desk break, allowing you a time-out to check in with yourself and create space. Highlights include variations of Chair, Warrior II, Side Angle, Half Split, Tree Pose, Down Dog, and Legs Up The Wall. You'll tend to your hips, side body, neck, spine, and hamstrings. From standing postures to backbends to proper ab work, this thorough Hatha practice is an excellent sequence for core strengthening. Move briskly through Dog Split to One-Legged Plank, arm variations in Trikonasana (Triangle) and Parsvakonasana (Side Angle), Low Plank, and Ardha Navasana (Half Boat Pose) before moving to the mat for finishing stretches and a rest.
